Behind the scenes in Porto Heli. Step inside stylist, Hanna MW’s summer in Porto Heli, as she shares her approach to vacation styling, the details that define a look and the inspiration shaping her summer edit.
ON LOCATION
What was it about Porto Cheli that felt like the right backdrop for this story?
I loved the contrast in Porto Cheli. You have these breathtaking, almost dreamlike surroundings, but also the wilder, rockier and more rugged landscapes. That mix felt really right for the story and gave us a lot to play with visually.
THE INSPIRATION
What inspired your approach to styling the collection?
I wanted the styling to feel expressive and a little unexpected. Accessories that really stand out, and more maximalism than minimalism, felt like the right way to bring another layer to the collection. I liked the idea of making each look feel very considered, but still effortless.
THE FINISHING TOUCHES
What are the small details you rely on to bring a look together? An unexpected layer, certain shoe, jewellery, or simply the way something is worn?
I work a lot with the small details that tie a look together. I like styling to feel playful, but still balanced. When I’m working with colour, for example, I often either pick up a tone from the clothing and repeat it in the accessories, or introduce a contrasting colour that still feels harmonious. It can be a shoe, a piece of jewellery, a scarf or simply the way something is worn that makes the whole look fall into place.
SUMMER DAYS
What does the perfect Summer day look like to you, from morning through to evening?
A early morning swim followed by a long long breakfast, deally somewhere by the sea, followed by lunch that turns into an afternoon swim. Then getting ready for dinner while the sun is still out, meeting friends for drinks and ending the evening somewhere outside. I love summer days that aren’t too planned and naturally turn into nights.
PACKING LIST
Which pieces from the collection are making it into your Summer suitcase and where are you wearing each piece?
Morning:
The Marisol Top and Emiliana Pant in Black Georgette Lace - with a scarf wrapped around the waist. It feels easy and relaxed, but still styled enough to wear straight from breakfast to the beach.
Lunch / afternoon / exploring town:
The Cloe Maxi Dress Valdemar Stripe Red Ochre - styled with the red and black flat shoes and an oversized brooch. I love how playful it feels while still being very easy to wear.
Dinner / evening:
The Leandra T-shirt in Port paired with the Martuba Skirt in Martinha Polka Dot, styled with the oversized red earrings. I love the mix of something quite casual with a stronger statement accessory for the evening.
SUMMER MUSES
Is there a place, era or person that always inspires the way you think about Summer style?
I often think about iconic Italian women and the way they have dressed for summer through the decades. There’s something about that mix of sensuality, colour and personality that I always come back to. It feels confident without being too considered, and that’s very much how I like summer style to feel.
